3. Browser Extension Data Collection
ExtractCSS Browser Extension
Our browser extension "ExtractCSS" provides additional functionality for extracting CSS and HTML from web elements. The extension operates locally in your browser and does not transmit any of your browsing data, extracted code, or website content to our servers.
Voluntary Data Submission
The extension provides two optional features that allow you to submit data to us:
- Feedback Submission: You can voluntarily submit feedback about the extension's functionality
- Issue Reporting: You can voluntarily report bugs or technical issues you encounter
Data Processing for Extension Feedback and Issue Reports
When you choose to submit feedback or report an issue through the extension, the following data may be collected:
- Your feedback or issue description: The text you provide describing your experience or the problem encountered
- Website content and browsing activity: This includes the URL of the website you were visiting, HTML and CSS code from the webpage, and the specific DOM selector of the element you selected for extraction. This website data is collected solely to help us reproduce and debug the issue you're reporting.
- Technical diagnostic information: Optional information you choose to include such as browser version, extension version, JavaScript error messages, and system information
- Contact information: Optional email address or other contact details if you wish to receive follow-up communication about your submission
Important: The collection of website URLs, HTML content, and CSS data constitutes "personal or sensitive user data" as defined by Chrome Web Store policies. This data is collected only when you voluntarily submit a feedback or bug report and is used exclusively for debugging, reproducing issues, and improving the extension's functionality.
This data is transmitted securely via HTTPS to our server infrastructure hosted on Railway in Amsterdam, Netherlands, and processed using n8n automation workflows. The legal basis for this processing is your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) given when you voluntarily submit the form.
Purpose and Retention
We use submitted feedback and issue reports solely for:
- Debugging and Issue Resolution: Website URLs, HTML, and CSS data are used to reproduce reported bugs and understand how the extension behaves on specific websites
- Extension Improvement: Technical information helps us improve the extension's functionality, compatibility, and user experience
- User Support: Responding to your inquiries if you provided contact information
Data Retention: All submitted data, including website content, is retained for a maximum of 24 months unless you request earlier deletion. Contact information is deleted immediately after resolving your inquiry unless you consent to further communication. Website data (URLs, HTML, CSS) is automatically anonymized after 12 months, removing any potential personally identifiable information while preserving technical details needed for ongoing development.
